Common Uses
Tramadol belongs to analgesic group. It is indicated to treat moderate to severe pain.
How to Take
Before you start taking any new medicine, please consult your doctor. The starting dose for adult patients is 25 mg taken one time a day in the morning. After a trial period you doctor may increase the dose up to 200 mg. Tramadol may be taken every 4 or 6 hours depending on pain you suffer from. If taking Tramadol as rapid pain relief, the side effects may be more severe. It is recommended to increase a dose step by step. The maximum dose is 300 mg a day.
Warning and Precautions
Tramadol sometimes causes lightheadedness, dizziness or fainting. Please avoid operating a potentially unsafe tasks or mechanisms such as driving a car, until you know your reaction to them. The effect may be worse if you take alcohol or certain medicines such as sleep aids or muscle relaxants. Use Tramadol with caution. Symptoms of such an overdose may include bluish skin, cold clammy skin, difficult or slow breathing, drowsiness leading to unresponsiveness or coma, excessive sweating, seizures, slow or irregular heartbeat, very fast heart rate. If you suspect an overdose, contact your emergency room immediately.
Storage
Tramadol should be stored at room temperature in a container it comes in. Protect it from heat, sun light and moisture. Do not store in the bathroom. Keep it away from your pets and children.
